Cookie Policy

Effective date: August 13, 2026

Theater1 uses only the minimum cookies needed to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. There are no third-party advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking cookies anywhere on the platform — so there is nothing here to consent to.

The cookies we set

Session cookie. A signed, httpOnly cookie that keeps you logged in. Essential.

Soft-launch access cookie. Set during the invite phase so a gate you've already passed doesn't ask again. Essential while the invite gate is on.

Waitlist cookie. Set only if you join the waitlist, so we can show you your place in line when you return. First-party only.

Gift cookie. Set only when you open a gifted film, so it plays without requiring an account. First-party only.

Analytics — no cookies at all

We use Plausible, a privacy-first analytics tool, to count page views. Plausible sets no cookies, collects no personal data, and never tracks you across other sites.

Your controls

You can clear or block cookies in your browser at any time. Blocking the essential cookies will sign you out and may prevent parts of the site from working. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture of what we collect and why.
