Copyright & DMCA Policy
Effective date: August 13, 2026
Theater1 hosts finished films that our creators upload. We respect copyright and respond to valid notices under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512. Creators warrant that they hold or have licensed all rights to what they publish (see the Terms); this page is how a rights holder tells us otherwise.
Reporting infringement (takedown notice)
If you believe a work on jointheater1.com infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated agent (below). To be valid under the DMCA it must include all six of the following:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim was infringed (or a representative list, if multiple works).
- Identification of the material you claim is infringing and enough information for us to locate it — the title page URL (for example jointheater1.com/t/…) is ideal.
- Your contact information: name, mailing address, telephone number, and email.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the owner or are authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
Knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing can expose you to liability for damages under § 512(f). If a notice is valid, we remove or disable the material promptly and notify the creator who posted it.
Designated agent
Send DMCA notices to Theater1's designated agent:
Brandon Wade, DMCA Agent
Time To Sizzle, LLC
871 Oklahoma Ave, Manchester, MO 63021, USA
Email: bear@timetosizzle.com
Registered with the U.S. Copyright Office DMCA Designated Agent Directory (DMCA-1079351).
Counter-notification
If your work was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same agent. It must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, mailing address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or, if outside the U.S., the district where Theater1 is located) and will accept service of process from the complaining party.
On receiving a valid counter-notice we forward it to the original complainant. We may restore the material in 10–14 business days unless the complainant tells us they have filed a court action seeking to restrain the activity.
Repeat infringers
We terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of creators who are repeat infringers. Fans keep access to anything they lawfully own except where a title is removed for a valid rights claim, in which case our refund terms apply.
